Dental Implants are permanent replacements for missing teeth that look natural and improve the function and appearance of your smile. Morris County Dental Associates in Succasunna has helped many patients boost their self-esteem and enhance their bites by placing and restoring dental implants using the latest in technology. We see patients from Randolph, Denville and surrounding areas.
What are Dental Implants?
Dental implants are small titanium cylinders that are placed into the jawbone to replace the roots of missing teeth. They have two primary uses: to replace missing teeth (either single or multiple), or to help hold dentures in place.
After the procedure, the jawbone grows around the posts, so that they become permanently anchored in place. In some cases, dental implants can be placed on the same day as a tooth extraction, while for others, periodontal treatment and other procedures are required before implantation. It’s important to speak to your dental implant dentist to develop a treatment plan that’s right for you and may include any necessary pre-treatments.
Our practice has exciting news! Dr. Goldberg is now providing dental implant services in Florham Park at Esthetic Dental Care.

Dental Implant Options
Dr. Ira Goldberg of Morris County Dental Associates explains the versatility of dental implants and the variety of dental implant options that are readily available.
There are many ways to utilize implants you can replace;
- a single tooth,
- multiple teeth,
- a full jaw of teeth,
- or stabilize dentures.
A dentist with advanced training in dental implants, like Dr. Goldberg, can determine which type is right for you.
Titanium is a biocompatible material, meaning the body accepts it. There are no reports of allergic reaction to the titanium alloys used for dental implants. Success rates are generally between 92% and 99%, depending upon the type of implant used, its location in the mouth, a person’s health, and the job it is being asked to perform. Primary reasons why they may fail include uncontrolled medical conditions and failure of patients to return to the dental office for maintenance. Very infrequently, there may be no detectable reason for implant “failure.”
Choosing a highly qualified dentist
While there are many things that you should consider when looking for an implant dentist, basing your decision on experience, training, and technology will help you to find the best provider for your needs. Dr. Goldberg has 20 years of experience placing and restoring implants, and he holds numerous credentials in the field, including a diploma from the American Board of Oral Implantology. At our office, we utilize the latest in imaging technology, including 3-D scans and RFA (resonance frequency analysis) to develop treatment plans and place implants, ensuring best results.
Implant supported dentures:
Implants can help you stabilize your dentures (whether full or partial dentures) or even completely eliminate them for you! Mini-implants are becoming more popular for denture-stabilization procedures, so you have another less expensive option at your disposal.
Every implant patient will have a different “Recare Protocol,” but in general, you need to present to the dental office 3 to 4 times per year within the first two years. You should expect to have the implant(s) and teeth or appliance physically checked, the occlusion (bite) checked, and radiographic exams (x-rays) taken. These services are NOT included in the quoted fees for the treatment: rather, this is part of your maintenance protocol. If you are problem-free after the first two years, annual exams (or semi-annual if you have any natural teeth in your mouth) with annual films should be expected.
Just because you have implants does not mean that the fixtures or teeth do not have to be cleaned. You can still develop infections of the bone and gums. Brushing, flossing, rinses with mouthwashes (medicated or OTC), waterpiks, and denture cleansers may all be part of your customized home-care regimen.
